The actresses who played Lucia and Mia, the scheming sex workers from “The White Lotus,” have a new job: modeling for Skims.
Kim Kardashian,
the co-founder of Skims, said she hired
Simona Tabasco
and Beatrice Grannò to promote a line of Valentine’s Day undergarments.
“I watched The White Lotus and had to have my girls!” Ms. Kardashian wrote in a post on Instagram Monday.
The actresses had breakout roles in the second season of the hit HBO show, playing Italian sex workers who worked their way through the lives of tourists at a high-end Sicilian resort.
“To be featured in a global fashion campaign with Beatrice that celebrates friendship, women, and feeling empowered and sexy in your own body is so rewarding,” Ms. Tabasco said in a statement.
The duo have been real-life friends for more than a decade, appearing in Italian movies and TV shows before landing roles in “The White Lotus.”
The show’s second season won a best limited series Golden Globe earlier this month.
Skims is known for casting models that get attention. The company last year hired supermodels who rose to fame in the 1990s, including Heidi Klum and Tyra Banks.
Launched in 2019, Skims had a valuation of $3.2 billion as of early last year, according to PitchBook, which tracks the market valuation of private companies.
Ms. Kardashian was at Harvard Business School last week speaking to students about Skims and marketing the brand.
“I’m so proud of Skims and the thought that it is a course being studied at Harvard is just crazy!!!” Ms. Kardashian wrote on Instagram.
