With voluminous locks and powerhouse vocals, Jon Bon Jovi has been captivating audiences since the 1980s. Hailing from New Jersey, the artist born John Francis Bongiovi Jr. first began flexing his musical muscles at thirteen, tinkering with both piano and guitar as part of his band Raze. After honing his craft and even trying his hand at jingle writing, he went on to form his iconic band, Bon Jovi, in 1983. The group immediately made their presence felt with their smash hit “Runaway”, which made a splash on Billboard’s top 40.
But, it was the 1986 album Slippery When Wet that catapulted Bon Jovi and his band to stratospheric levels of superstardom. With 28 million copies sold and chart-topping singles like “You Give Love a Bad Name” and “Livin’ on a Prayer”, they cemented their place in music history. Jon Bon Jovi’s talents were officially recognized when he was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 2009.
