Former President Donald Trump’s indictment and subsequent arraignment gave a viewership jolt to major cable-news networks, all of which posted double-digit percentage increases in ratings from a week earlier.

Fox News was the most-watched news network from March 30 through April 5—a period that included the day the grand jury voted to indict Mr. Trump, and the day he was arraigned—averaging nearly 1.5 million total-day viewers, according to Nielsen. Rivals MSNBC and CNN averaged more than one million and 631,000 viewers respectively over that period.
